God's Suggestion Box?

Written in my Bible from some time ago is the question, “What if God had a suggestion box?” Did you also laugh out loud? But how often do you find yourself giving God suggestions throughout the week? Before you jump to the 'I would never' mindset, think about the things you asked of God during your last prayer time.
“Can you please fix this car so I won’t have to spend the money on it?”
“I hate my job. Can you just make it simpler so I am not so stressed?”
“There are not enough hours in the day. Something’s gotta give, God.”
If life came with a suggestion box, you and I both would slip a few pieces of advice in there. So why doesn’t God have (or need) a suggestion box? Because He longs for something deeper than your advice to him; he wants your whole trust, whole faith, and whole heart.
God is sovereign: Daniel 4:35 is a powerful declaration of God’s supreme authority. “He does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. None can stay his hand or say to him, ‘What have you done?’” This verse serves as a reminder against pride and a call to trust the Creator who orchestrates everything.
God is wise: 1 Corinthians 1:25 “For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” It’s ironic that Paul uses the phrases “foolishness of God” since there is nothing foolish about God, and “weakness of God” when there cannot be found any weakness. But these terms reveal a deeper, more powerful reality: Christ is the source of all believers’ wisdom.
Instead of counsel or a panel of advisors, God wants your relationship. He sees you. He cares for you. He loves you. He sent his son to die for your sins.
John: Abide in me
Matthew: Come to me
Philippians: Let your requests be made known to God
1 Peter: Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you
James: Draw near to God
