Meet Our Staff

Rev. Dean Webb – Senior Pastor
“Pastor Dean” came to Cedar Grove in February 2003. He is a native Floridian where he pastored for 20 years prior to coming to Honea Path, S.C., in 1993. He is a graduate of Baptist College of Florida with a B.A. in Theology. Pastor Webb delivers strong, Biblical messages in our worship services as well as teaching a Wednesday Night Bible Study and facilitating in F.A.I.T.H. basic. He and his wonderful wife Lizz have been married for 34 years. They have two married children, both in ministry, here in South Carolina. They also have 2 grandchildren who are the light of their lives. Pastor Dean is an active outdoorsman. He enjoys waterskiing, snow skiing, trail-riding and yard work.

Rev. Tim Moon –Minister of Music/Students
Tim has been serving Cedar Grove as Minister of Music and Students since February 2004. He is the main Worship Leader, Adult Choir Director and Director of our Student Ministries. He is also a F.A.I.T.H. Team Leader and F.A.I.T.H. Discipleship Teacher. Tim is a graduate of Charleston Southern University where he earned a B.A. in church music/religion. Tim spent the last 10 years serving churches in North Carolina. Prior to that, he served in Abbeville and Summerville, S.C. He has been married to his lovely wife Marie since 1991, and they have a 10 year old son. Tim is an avid reader and enjoys working in the yard, Clemson football and spending time with his family.

Mrs. Judy Busby - Church Secretary/ Financial Secretary/ Church Organist
Judy has spent her entire life here in the Cheddar Community and at Cedar Grove. She worked briefly for Michelin before beginning her service as church organist in 1969 and church secretary in 1989. She is a 1964 graduate of Palmetto High School and a 1966 graduate of Forest College, where she earned an A.A. in Secretarial Science. She and her husband Henry have been married for 40 years. They have one daughter, Jill. Judy enjoys yardwork and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Gloria Thompson – Education and Care Co-Director/Church Pianist
While attending Cedar Grove since birth, Gloria has served our Education and Care Ministry for the past 30 years. She has also served throughout that time as church pianist as well as helping to found “Grandmas for Christ.” She is a 1965 graduate of Palmetto High School and a 1967 graduate of the School of Practical Nursing. Prior to her work in our Education and Care Ministry, she spent nine years in the nursing field. Gloria and her husband Alton have been married for 38 years and have one married daughter and 3 grandchildren.

Mrs. Linda Ellison – Education & Care Co-Director
Linda has been a member of Cedar Grove since the age of 14, and has served our Education and Care Ministry for the past 30 years. She is a 1965 graduate of Palmetto High School. She and her husband, Ray, have been married for 40 years. They have 2 married daughters and 5 grandchildren. She is an active member of our adult choir, WMU and a founding member of “Grandmas for Christ,” a ladies trio that ministers regularly in our worship services. Linda enjoys spending every weekend with her grandchildren.

Bill Poore -Church Custodian
Bill began his service to Cedar Grove in September 2007. He is responsible for cleaning & maintenance of our buildings. He is a graduate of Belton-Honea Path High School and attended Spartanburg Methodist College to play baseball. He is married to Becky and they have 2 children, Will who is 13 and Katie who is 10. They are active members of Barkers Creek Baptist Church, where they are involved in choir and drama. When not working @ Cedar Grove or ministering at Barkers Creek, he enjoys fishing, softball and spending time with family
